How do I set up my iSight Firewire 400 camera to work remotely on my Apple Extreme WiFi?
I would like to remotely set-up my old iSight camera, so I can access it on my WiFi home network.
Thank you for your help.
MacBook Pro, OS X Mavericks (10.9.2)

I don't know any way to remotely set up any iSight to use AE (or any other) WiFi.
Although this is NOT remote setup, you can set up your old external iSight
for use via your WiFi network like this:
(1) Connect your Mac to your WiFi network and make certain it works.
(2) Connect your old external iSight to your Mac.
Depending on your Mac's Firewire port(s),
you may need adapters or 6 pin to 9 pin cables.
If you are uncertain whether your old iSight works,
you can test it using the suggestions from this link.
(3) Any Mac app that can use your iSight can use your WiFi network.
You can only control your iSight from the Mac. If you need to control
the Mac remotely, consider something like Apple Remote Desktop.

OK. That's what I needed to know.
I was hoping there was a way to get the camera on my existing network without using my computer.
Might this work?
Use a devise like a Linksys LAN bridge or something like it that can get on my LAN and then maybe use a crossover connection wire to link it to my iSight.
Thank you for your thoughts.

You're welcome.

Nope. Not unless there is a Mac in your bridged set up.
Much appreciated:-)
Best,
Joe
